What we are looking for…
Based in their offices in Reston, Virginia, they are looking for a hands-on Avaya Red Engineer with an active Secret or Top-Secret security clearance to support one of our long-term federal clients.
Key responsibilities within this role…
Senior Engineer
- Lead the enterprise program for maintaining Avaya Unified Communications and Contact Center services while promoting security awareness and continuous improvement.
- Provide best practice solutions for upgrades and implementations of voice communications services, networks, and adjuncts such as: Communication Manager, System Manager, Session Manager, Voicemail, CMS, AES, AVP, VoIP endpoints, and SIP trunks.
- Hands-on experience with Avaya Aura products is mandatory to be successful in
this position as you will lead the local team for upgrades, installs, and migrations.
- Serve as the escalation point of contact for Operations and Maintenance of the Avaya Aura devices and voice network to include troubleshooting the LAN, WAN, call routing, trunking, service provider issues, and secure VoIP endpoints (GDIT Viper).
- Help define the customer’s voice security architecture that will support FIPS and FISMA
programs of compliance for federal IT systems.
- Provide clear direction to the client, ensuring all stakeholders understand the importance and value of their individual role in achieving the government’s mission and goals.
- Provide daily, weekly, monthly reports/updates on program activities and progress to local government management as required.
About you…
Secret or Top-Secret security clearance are required; must be a US citizen.
- Bachelor’s Degree/equivalent in Computer Science or related.
- Substantial hands-on experience with Avaya Aura products, typically of at least five years.
- Experience with: Linux, Visio, VMware, Microsoft, and Cisco are all desired.
- Operational experience of implementing IT or networking systems
- Experience of working in an environment processing sensitive customer data.
- Great communicator, including verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to influence those not in direct line management.
