System One is seeking a Machinist for a contract opportunity with one of our large clients located in Orlando FL.
The Technician-level position as a machinist in the Mechanical Engineering Machine Shop operates a wide range of machine tools in the precision fabrication from aerospace-grade metals of prototype / development parts and assemblies, in support of internal customers for research and development projects and contracted programs.
Machinist Responsibilities: - Some experience with technical fabrication in a prototype/development environment with experience in metal fabrication, mechanical assembly, and composites fabrication while working in a teaming environment.
- Demonstrated competence in fabrication of basic steel and aluminum alloys using knee mill, band saw, manual lathe, basic hand-powered metal cutting.
- Must be able to work a flex-schedule, overtime, evenings, weekends, etc., and the position will require candidate to work onsite, daily.
- Capable of deconflicting scheduling conflicts with customers and possess the ability to multi-task and prioritize projects as needed.
- Proficient in computing within a Windows-based MS Office-suite centered environment for communication, scheduling, data processing, and basic data transfer.
- Demonstrated sound writing and verbal communication skills.
- High School diploma, or equivalent experience/combined education, with additional specialized technical training equivalent to a technical Associate degree and/or demonstrated ability to perform assigned technical tasks and 4 years or more of experience.
- Able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance. Not required to start.
Machinist Requirements: - 4 years technical fabrication experience in a prototype/development environment with experience in metal fabrication, mechanical assembly, and composites fabrication while working in a teaming environment.
- Knowledge of CNC machines and software, CATIA, Creo, Pro E, and G-code programing.
- GD&T, Mil-Spec Standards,
- Advanced working knowledge with various metals, layout, cutting, bending, forming.
- Working knowledge from concept design into product development.
- Ability to communicate through development preform guidance of working projects and tasking individuals.
- Current DoD Secret clearance is highly preferred however not required.
