The AmeriCorps VISTA Leader serving with Campus Compact will build program capacity alongside our staff team. Our leaders support our multi-state cohort of AmeriCorps members throughout the United States. Campus Compact is a coalition of colleges and universities dedicated to advancing the public purposes of higher education and an intermediary sponsor for an AmeriCorps VISTA program. Approximately 60 AmeriCorps members will be leveraged by higher education institutions and their community partners to build capacity for education, economic success, healthy futures, environmental stewardship, and veterans & military families that directly impact individuals experiencing poverty. As a corps, Campus Compact AmeriCorps members benefit from various professional development opportunities, including weekly meetings and virtual training sessions throughout their service year. You will be part of a team of up to three VISTA leaders and four staff members supporting the execution of their poverty-alleviating VISTA project through monitoring project progress, mentoring members, and leading personal and professional development efforts for Campus Compact's cohort of AmeriCorps members throughout their service year. VISTA Leaders will have individual roles concentrating on member development, recruitment/outreach, or data. Positions will be within commuting distance of one of our host site locations (sites available upon request). If you are currently in a term of service, our team is open to other start dates, but you must notify Stephanie Diaz if this applies to you. You must have served a full term as either an AmeriCorps or a Peace Corps member to be eligible to serve as a VISTA Leader. In addition to the benefits listed, Campus Compact will provide partial rent support paid directly to the landlord, partial wifi/phone support, and access to professional development opportunities for individuals serving in these roles. These positions will be left open until filled.





Member Duties : The Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA Leader will assist in creating and providing member training, technical assistance, resources, and support to the national Campus Compact cohort. The VISTA Leader will maintain regular communication with an assigned portfolio of members and host site program staff via phone, email, periodic in-person meetings, and site visits. Alongside the build-out of the annual training and member support program, VISTA Leaders conduct and develop data collection & evaluation processes, research, and resource materials for VISTA host sites and members and build capacity for program communications and recruitment.
