Description:
The A/V Project Engineer is an integral part of the team, working with the sales team to establish requirements and expectations for clients. This includes compiling appropriate documentation and technical drawings for the A/V systems you design, working with project managers to ensure a correct system installation, and providing technical support through troubleshooting and training where required.
Responsibilities:
- Engineer and implement Audio/Video systems and solutions.
- Understand signal routing, control systems, video displays and processing, amplifiers, speakers, microphones, and networks.
- Provide technical expertise to support the sales team, clients, installers, and project management on the installation of audio, video, networking, lighting, and control systems.
- Create equipment specifications and bill of materials lists for cost estimating and purchasing.
- Read blueprints, construction drawings, CAD wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Collaborate with the Sales and Project team in establishing accurate and effective solutions for the clients.
- Produce A/V installation drawings and technical documentation per system requirements.
- Conduct project site visits to verify installations, conduct system testing & verification, and commissioning plans and other documents per contract requirements.
- Provide client training and assist with close out of projects.
- Additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
- AS/BS/MS in Information Technology, Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or another technical related field - preferred
- 1-8 years of experience in Audio-Video Integration or Technical Trade Equivalent - preferred
- AVIXA CTS or CTS-D certification is a plus
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit is a plus
- Knowledge of Construction Industry is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills internally & with client.
- Punctual, must be able to meet deadlines, while maintaining the highest quality standards.
- Accurate and detail oriented
- Strong team player and collaboration skills
- A/V industry manufacturer certifications are a plus (e.g. QSC, Crestron, Shure, BIAMP, etc.)
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus
- May require 20-30% travel
Salary will depend on experience.
