SUMMARY:

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide prompt, professional communication with both internal and external customers regarding transportation-related issues.
  2. Build relationships with transportation providers to ensure a high level of service to our customers.
  3. Analyze and recommend improvements to our current processes and procedures to increase service levels and decrease costs where possible.
  4. Carrier and customer support via phone and e-mail. Rotating on-call evening availability.
  5. Daily/weekly/monthly analysis of shipment data, reporting of results, improvement recommendations.
  6. Monitoring and reporting on railcar shipments, including problem railcar resolution.
  7. Preparing monthly and annual carrier evaluations.
  8. Identifying potential carriers and making initial evaluations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Operating experience preferred.
  2. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word.
  3. CarrierPoint or other TMS experience preferred.
  4. Strong analytical skills.
  5. Results-oriented and driven.
  6. Detail-oriented.
  7. Excellent communication skills.
  8. Works well in a team environment or independently.
  9. Ability to interact with multiple levels and functions within the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor's degree (preferred)
  2. Minimum two years of transportation/logistics experience.
