The Superintendent provides overall leadership for on-site field administration, supervision, and technical management for construction operations. This includes direct supervision of assistants, foremen, subcontractors, and other construction personnel, ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and meets or exceeds profit goals. The Superintendent also plays a key role in maintaining a safe work environment, fostering client relationships, and enhancing the company's image.- Examine purchase orders and subcontracts and offer comments.
- In charge of field engineering, layout, and daily activity coordination.
- Assure adherence to labor relations, insurance, safety, and Equal Employment Opportunity regulations.
- Recognize the procedures and means used by trade contractors in compliance with the project documentation.
- Examine, accept, and code vendor and subcontractor payments.
- Create and implement a plan to keep an eye on field inspections and punch list fulfillment.
- Recognize the labor laws in your area before doing any work on your own.
- Identify prospective projects with current clients and let Sales and Marketing know about them.
- Bachelors degree in an accredited construction-related curriculum or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent or 10+ years of construction-related experience.
- Current OSHA knowledge of applicable OSHA requirements.
- Maintain certifications for First Aid and CPR.
- Proficient with personal computer-based scheduling software and spreadsheet applications.
