Job description

The National Urban League seeks a Director, Professional Development Events and Learning, in the Talent Management department. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Human Resources, the Director is responsible for the management of all human capital related events and learning activities for the national office and its affiliate network.

The ideal candidate will have an elevated level of project management and learning design skills. This includes the ability to plan, organize, control, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. In addition, the candidate will be results oriented with strong analytical, presentation, and facilitations skills. Additionally, the candidate will have experience managing logistics and general content for professional development events.

• Manage all professional development and leadership training for National Office and the affiliate network.
• Project manage human resources professional development events.
• Developing event project plan that includes an event marketing plans, resources management, delivery timeline, budget, event program staff schedules and task assignments.
• Work in partnership with the Event Marketing team to design and deliver successful events that include defined event goals and objectives, and event implementation plans that promote the organizational brand.
• Engage Senior Vice Presidents s in strategic consultation to identify training and professional development needs and assist in the development, implementation, and management of appropriate solutions.
• Propose, lead, and deliver organizational development initiatives on key business and human resources initiatives at the group and organization level to improve organizational effectiveness.
• Manages direct report and provides overall supervision for the Digital Career Success Series (DCSS) and career fairs, live and virtual.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree required and related five - seven years’ experience in organizational development, human resources, learning event management or related fields.

Working Conditions:

• This position is hybrid.
• Travel 20%
• Event management, project management or training certifications a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
