Job description
Emler Swim School, rapidly growing and continually providing exceptional service for young families in communities, seeks an Accountant to support several functions within the accounting department including accounts payable, corporate credit card program administration, month-end close process, and business administration functions.
This role contributes to company growth by participating in process and workflow improvements and communicating effectively at all levels internal and external to the organization.
Accountant Responsibilities:
- Daily entry of accounts payable invoices and expense reports including auditing for proper approvals, accuracy, and adherence to the company travel and expense reimbursement policy.
- Setup of new vendors as needed including collection and review of W9 information for proper 1099 reporting.
- Checks run as needed to ensure vendors are paid timely.
- Integration of newly acquired schools including transition of vendors, as well as review and documentation of invoices for seller related expenses.
- Timely transfer and/or setup of utility vendor accounts as needed for new or acquired schools.
- Resolve payment issues that may arise with vendor partners.
- Maintain an electronic filing system for all invoices and payments.
- Administration of the company corporate credit program including timely issuance and cancellation of cards, reconciliation and review of expenses charged, daily balance management, and entry into the accounting system.
- Assist with various tasks at month end including some cash and balance sheet reconciliation, revenue recognition reporting.
- Monthly sales and use tax reporting in various states.
- Annual projects such as generating 1099s, property tax renditions, and audit requests.
- Support for annual business insurance renewals
- Corporate registrations in various states
- Assist the schools with information and payments needed for required permits.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or finance
- 3 to 5 years of related experience
