Job description
The Wound Care Certified Nurse Practitioner is licensed provider who works autonomously within their scope of practice but in collaboration with Physicians and other clinical staff to provide and manage advanced wound care management. The position performs a broad spectrum of patient care services at the expert level and possesses additional training in skin, wound, and ostomy care. The position will be responsible for managing the patient’s wound care and visit documentation in a timely and efficient manner, and working with other staff to develop plans of care to increase quality and control costs. At a minimum, must perform established Washington Health System Core Wound Care Certified Registered Nurse Practitioners Skills & Responsibilities.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Direct and indirect patient care that includes assessments, diagnosis, education, planning, and treatment of wounds, skin and ostomies.
- Provides ongoing management of patients with actual or potential skin breakdown. Performs initial and ongoing assessment of patients’ medical, physical, and psychosocial status.
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates skin care related to wounds based upon current concepts and findings.
Wound Care certification by a wound care certification board
required (i.e. American Board of Wound Management, Wound Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board.)

Hours: Monday-Friday Daylight. 40 hours per week, or as deemed necessary for position
