WAREHOUSE DELIVERY DRIVER DIST Location Lawrence, KS (Pinckeny area) : Warehouse - Delivery Driver - District USD 497 Details FTE: 1.0 HOURS/DAY: 8.0 DAYS PER YEAR: 260 Purpose Statement The job of Warehouse Delivery Diver - District is done for the purpose/s of performing a variety of duties related to receiving, inspecting, processing, and storing materials, supplies, furniture and equipment. Warehouse duties include loading and unloading orders, stocking inventory and maintaining warehouse; transporting orders of equipment, materials, and supplies required for instructional and support functions throughout the District, ensuring safe operation of vehicles required for delivery operations, and assisting in print shop and warehouse activities to meet required workload demands. Essential Functions Assembles furniture and equipment as may be required for the purpose of providing items in working order at assigned site. Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system for the purpose of verifying stock and identifying losses. Drives a variety of delivery vehicles on established routes and unestablished routes meeting required timelines for the purpose of providing items to appropriate work areas. Inspects the received goods for the purpose of making note of any discrepancies and immediately reporting the same. Maintains picks up surplus/discarded items/furniture and equipment, evaluates, and recommends reuse or disposal; hauls unusable materials to the recycle center for the purpose of providing warehouse operations. Maintains warehouse facilities for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and orderly appearance and operation for receipt, inventory, and distribution of furniture, equipment, and supplies for the purpose of ensuring a safe work environment. Maintains vehicles and warehouse equipment (e.g. cleaning, inspecting, fueling, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring safe operation of vehicle. Operates a variety of equipment (e.g. forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, power stretch wrap machine, rolling ladders, ladders, to transport orders required for instructional and support operations throughout the District (e.g. science resource kits, textbooks, paper supplies, furniture, equipment, et, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring materials are available at various sites as required. Picks up surplus/discarded items/furniture and equipment, evaluates, and recommends reuse or disposal; hauls unusable materials to the recycle center (e.g. unknown lab materials, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring a safe work environment. Pulls items from stock to fill warehouse orders and loads orders for the purpose of preparing orders for transport. Receives stock and nonstock items for the purpose of ensuring specifications, quantity and quality of orders are correct. Responds to inquiries of staff and vendors for the purpose of providing information and/or direction regarding the status of deliveries. Unloads deliveries for the purpose of distributing shipment at assigned site locations and/or to appropriate individuals. Other Functions Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities. Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Abilities SKILLS are required to perform multiple tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adhering to safety practices; handling potentially hazardous materials; operating equipment used in warehouse operations; operating vehicles. KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios; understand written procedures, write routine documents, and speak clearly; and understand complex, multi-step written and oral instructions. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: basic vehicle maintenance, safety practices and procedures. ABILITY is required to schedule activities; collate data; and consider a number of factors when using equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing specific, defined processes; and operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a wide diversity of individuals; work with similar types of data; and utilize a variety of job-related equipment. Problem solving is required to identify issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data may require independent interpretation; and problem solving with equipment is moderate. Specific ability based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adapting to changing work priorities; displaying mechanical aptitude; displaying tact and courtesy; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with diverse groups; meeting deadlines and schedules; setting priorities; working in an environment with constant interruptions; frequently performing physical demanding activities; adhering to district policies; and regular attendance except when taking approved leave. Work Environment The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some climbing and balancing, significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 10% sitting, 10% walking, and 80% standing. The job is performed under temperature extremes and in a generally hazard free environment. Experience: Job related experience is required. Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
