Job description
The Hartford Bishop’s Foundation has an opening for the full-time (35 hours per week) in-office position for Donor Relations and Special Events Manager.
The ideal candidate will organize and oversee all special events and donor relations functions. They will also assist in the development and management of all events and activities that promote and support the fundraising and donor relations programs of the Archdiocese of Hartford and The Hartford Bishops’ Foundation.
Primary responsibilities will include: work with other team managers to establish the agendas and objectives of each approved event and where appropriate, coordinate and manage all aspects of these events including, but not limited to: strategic planning, budget development, sponsorships, mailing lists and invitations, facilities, catering, event programming and technology requirements.
Additional responsibilities will include: provide oversight for stewardship/donor relations programming and activities to thank and acknowledge individuals and entities who philanthropically support the Archdiocese; develop stewardship policies, procedures and strategies and provide assistance with the creation and oversight of individual stewardship strategies related to significant major gifts donors; and create and distribute an annual stewardship report to all donors, as well as any other reports or documents, acknowledging the contributions of significant donors.
Qualified candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field, three to five years of significant special events experience, and prior experience in a fundraising environment.
Additional qualifications include: fluency in Microsoft Office with a heavy emphasis on Microsoft Excel and database management; working knowledge of The Raiser’s Edge software; excellent organizational, written/verbal communication and interpersonal and relationship building skills with a demonstrated ability to work independently; and an appreciation for the culture and philosophy of the Roman Catholic Church.
