A Principal Data Scientist in this group will help guide the creation, installation, and support of the data analysis and development of Machine Learning (ML) models for our attractions. We work closely with internal partners to deliver world-class guest experiences with interactive & data systems across Disney Experiences (DX). You will be reporting to Attractions Operational Technology.
This is a Full-Time Remote role.
Responsible for fostering and developing relationships with business partners, providing thought leadership, and asserting influence by driving projects to completion effectively and efficiently.
Engage with research and business partners, help drive ML strategies, and identify areas where business problems can be solved creatively by applying ML.
Lead and work with other engineers and data scientists to implement and efficiently scale ML solutions to create magical experiences for our guests and push the boundaries of operational goals.
Drive research and development, proofs of concept, technology currency initiatives, and customer interactions that lead to developing best-in-class machine learning platforms.
Supervise operational support and maintenance of ML-related products and services delivered by the team.
Build standard methodologies used in day-to-day operations and work with business units to plan, design, and implement large-scale projects in the machine learning space.
Productionize ML algorithms in predictive analytics, classification, image recognition, NLP, anomaly detection, etc. and evaluate their performance on real-world data sets.
Collaborate with various teams to achieve objectives in improving system performance Integrate with existing software practices that produce maintainable code, including automated testing, continuous integration, code style conformity, and code reviews.
10+ years of mastery in Python and with predictive modeling experiences, such as TensorFlow, SparkMLib, PySpark, Torch, MXNet, etc.
8+ years of expert-level experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP.
Knowledgeable in SDLC, QA processes, and Object-Oriented Software Design Patterns.
Expert-level experience with structured and unstructured data (i.e., images, video, text, tabular, etc.) and SQL relational and non-relational databases.
2+ years of experience in Airflow or another data workflow management tool.
Experience with revision control software, such as GitHub and GitLab, Model Ops, and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience in leading discovery processes with partners to identify the business requirements and the expected outcome and strong communication, interpersonal skills, and fortitude to complete tasks.
Strong systems integration architecture skills, adept at turning new tech into business solutions.
Experience with Docker.
Experience with control systems.
Experience with Kubernetes.
Experience with cloud deployments in GCP or another cloud platform.
Experience with Atlassian Tools such as Jira & Confluence.
Experience with Agile development methods.
Experience with automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous development.
Experience with data visualization and data monitoring tools (e.g. Splunk, Plotly, Tableau).
Experience with audio analytics.
Experience with text analytics.
Masters of Science in Data Science, Statistics, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent technical background.
Preferred: Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent technical background.

The hiring range for this remote position is $142,200.00 to $190,000.00 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.Job tags
