PLG Damage Attorneys, PLLC is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and subpoenas.
- Maintain and organize case files, ensuring all relevant documents are filed appropriately.
- Monitor and calendar case deadlines, court appearances, and hearings.
- Conduct legal research to support attorneys in case preparation.
- Summarize and analyze legal documents, statutes, and regulations.
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to the firm's practice areas.
- Act as a liaison between clients, attorneys, and court personnel.
- Communicate case updates and gather information from clients as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain positive client relationships.
- Draft and proofread legal correspondence, memos, and other documents.
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and maintain attorney calendars.
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and correspondence, directing them to the appropriate parties.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or related field preferred
- Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal in a law firm setting is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with legal research tools and databases.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
- Detail-oriented and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to take initiative.
- Certification as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal is a plus.
