Job description
This position is responsible for assisting in the operation of department. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job-related responsibilities and duties throughout the facility as assigned and or as necessary. Under general direction, the Project Supervisor acts as the on-site project leader to plan, execute, and complete controls systems projects with assigned customers. Performs or delegates tasks, as required, to execute and fully complete assigned projects including hardware design, system programming, installation coordination, system and network commissioning and project closeout. Coordinates communication with the customer during all phases of the project. Provides work direction, assistance and mentoring to subcontractors, technicians, as necessary. Ensures work performed is within contractual obligations and is performed with the highest standard of ethics. Adheres and ensures staff and subcontractors adhere to all safety standards.

- Provide onsite support for projects of varied complexity and priority.
- Ensure proper installation hardware and software programming using established standards, as required.
- Provides detailed information to communicate design and operation to customers and subcontractors.
- Actively pursues additional work through change orders.
- Accountable for maintaining and securing onsite inventory
- Communicates both technical and business-related issues with the PM.
- Assists in the loading, device verification, and commissioning of all system controllers as required.
- Confirms and validates complete system functionality and assists in the troubleshooting of problems with technicians, subcontractors, and other trades to ensure proper operation.
- Provides accurate project submittal mark-ups and commissioning documentation.
- Provides coaching and mentoring on-the-job to Solutions Technicians.
- Provides technical assistance, leadership and mentoring to technicians and subcontractors.
- Provides PM with all documentation required through the lifecycle of the project.
- Ensures that delegated tasks are done accurate and on-time within budgeted time and scope of project.
- Effectively communicates the status of projects to PM as required.
- Ensures own daily time postings with descriptive job notes as well as the technicians.
- Performs site-specific training for owner/operator on the total system in full or with assistance, as needed.
- Ensures owner/operator has been trained.
- Provides proper documentation and manuals for system operation.
- Develops and maintains viable long-term relationships with contractors, clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Attends WIP meetings, as required.
- Provides accurate information to the Billing Team in a timely manner.
- Support a performance-based culture, both team and individual, to assure continuous improvement and alignment with enterprise vision, mission, and objectives.
- Drive employee engagement, training, and development in the key areas of safety, quality, and productivity.
- Manage the project budget.
- Ensure regulatory compliance across a range of federal, state, and local agencies.
- Ensure that all quality and safety standards, specifications and policies are met, drive continuous improvements, and collaborate with the team to drive efficiencies.
- Support a culture based on open/honest dialogue and involvement with all team members that demonstrates the value of their input and engagement in improving performance.
- Support a culture of high performance and accountability in employee and site safety as well as other aspects of the business.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field preferred, however, an equivalent combination of education and experience (High School Diploma or GED equivalent a minimum requirement) will also be considered.
- Required 5 years journeyman level experience and certification in one or more of the building trades; High school diploma or GED; supplemented by vocation/technical training in general construction (carpentry), plumbing, wiring, HVAC, etc.
- 3-5 relevant work experience in the field or relate area that provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for the job.
- Equivalent experience, vocational school, or an Associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar field is preferred.
- Ability to read/understands complex building architectural, mechanical, and electrical documents.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize among assignments with a strong adherence to deadlines.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, both with internal and external customers.
- Possess a strong and active working knowledge of MS Office (i.e.: Excel) and other systems utilized by organization.
- Ability to create tracking spreadsheets, reference data in other spreadsheets.
- Knowledge of standards, requirements, and applicable building codes.
- Be organized, detail oriented and self-motivating.
- Frequent communication regarding the project performance of the job with PM.
- Knowledge of control theory and building automation systems.
- Strong relationship building skills ability.
- Ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience.
- Ability to lead and mentor a technical force.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
- Able to work either independently, with little to no supervision, or in a team atmosphere.
- Prior experience leading, coaching, and mentoring others.
- Prior experience supporting construction and field employee groups, including strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and self-initiative.

- Demonstrated ability to coach managers and supervisors to use company practices for maximum effectiveness.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills; high quality document and report preparation.
