Responsibilities
Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center provides quality mental health care and education services for adolescents, ages 11–17 who are experiencing behavioral, emotional, educational, family and social challenges. The dedicated professionals at Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center provide quality mental health treatment for children. The program establishes healthy behaviors and prepares children to transition back home.
The Behavior Technician provides 1:1 behavioral intervention services to patients with mental/behavioral health needs and supports the facility treatment teams. The Behavior Technician is responsible for implementing Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) based programs as directed by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst including instructing patients and facility personnel. Responsible for implementation of skill acquisition and behavior reduction plans developed through working directly with patients in a one on one or group setting. Collect and record data, create and maintain materials, writes progress notes, maintains point store, and plan facility incentives. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Working knowledge of behavior management and those on the Autism spectrum disorder. Effective oral, written, and listening communication skills; computer skills (Microsoft Office Products). Physical Demands - Working with patients in their natural environments may require you to lift or move approximately 50 lbs. and be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, sitting, and standing) for extended periods. Fully participate with a team to safely restrain or seclude patients as necessary.
Typical schedule is Monday - Friday 8am-4:30pm with an occasional evening or weekend as needed.
