Workshop Teachers at a Teen Summer Program

Currently seeking teachers for:
- Animation
- Ceramics
- Creative Writing
- Culinary
- Farm
- Graphic Novels & Illustration
- Metal Jewelry
- Photography
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create and lead one or two daily 2.5 hour workshops for 4 weeks
- Supervise students in afternoon open studios, evening and weekend events
- Provide in-depth lesson plans and supplies/materials requirements in advance
- Provide thorough student evaluations within 7 days of program completion
- Provide students with consistent support throughout the four week program
- Monitor student schedules and attendance
- Form positive, professionally appropriate relationships with students to further enhance their summer experience
Work Hours and Benefits:
- Mandatory staff training from Tuesday, June 25th through Friday, June 28th 2024
- Program runs from Saturday, June 30th through Friday, July 26th 2024
- Option to lead one or, depending on enrollment, two workshops each weekday
- Option to lead an arts activity for two evenings per week (additionally compensated)
- One 24-hour day off per week
- Additional $250 stipend for returning staff

Our ideal Teacher candidate:
- Has experience teaching in the arts and enjoys working with teenagers
- Maintains an active art practice
- Is eager to collaborate with fellow artists and educators
- Responsible, reliable, punctual and flexible
- Has previous summer camp experience
- Enthusiastic with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
- Must be 21 years of age or above
- Must be eligible to work in the US for the duration of the program
Desired but not required:
- First Aid training
- Gallery coordination experience
- Camping / hiking experience
- Valid driver’s license
- School bus driver endorsement that is valid in Vermont
Things to expect at Putney Summer Arts:
- Changing schedules to adapt to the needs of our students
- No smoking or vaping for the duration of the program
- No alcohol, drugs or illicit substances for the duration of the program
- No internet-ready devices (including smart watches) outside of your room
