Position Overview: As a Commercial HVAC Technician, you will play a crucial role in installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role requires technical proficiency, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, including the ability to pass a drug and background check.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation and Maintenance:
- Install, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC systems, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to extend the life of HVAC equipment.
Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues, addressing electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration problems.
- Develop effective solutions to resolve technical issues promptly.
System Testing:
- Perform testing and inspections of HVAC systems to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Conduct system performance tests and make adjustments as needed.
Customer Communication:
- Communicate with clients to understand their HVAC needs and address inquiries.
- Provide recommendations for system upgrades and improvements.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of service calls, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Complete service reports and document work performed.
Equipment Upgrades:
- Recommend and install energy-efficient and cost-effective upgrades to HVAC systems.
- Stay informed about industry advancements and new technologies.
Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working on HVAC systems.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Clean Driving Record:
- Maintain a clean driving record and operate company vehicles safely.
- Drive to various job sites as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of HVAC certification or apprenticeship program.
- 3+ years of experience as a Commercial HVAC Technician.
- Knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, including rooftop units, chillers, boilers, and controls.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing HVAC system issues.
- Strong understanding of refrigeration principles and components.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid HVAC technician license, driver's license, and a clean driving record.
