Electrical Component Engineer is an entry level position focused on 1) providing the engineering support for commercial grade dedication of safety related components including but not limited to relays, breakers, etc 2) developing and maintaining digital analytics to proactively identify component problems with cost and obsolescence 3) identifying form, fit, function equivalent components 4) testing and qualifying next generation components for fleet modernization and new builds.

Essential Responsibilities :
The GE-Hitachi Nuclear Energy Electrical Engineering Components Team is  seeking a dynamic,  highly-motivated individual to help drive modernization of electrical products.  Electrical Component Engineer responsibilities include the following:

• Analyze electrical schematics, one-line diagrams and instrumentation diagrams
• Evaluate electrical component design using available manufacturer information including datasheets
• Identify failure modes and mechanisms of electrical components
• Develop test plans and acceptance criteria for components to assure critical functions
• Complete test of electrical components using electrical lab equipment, including, but not limited to, oscilloscopes, multimeters, load banks, logic analyzers, etc
• Analyze large amounts of data to gain valuable insights
• Prepare, document and present technical data to internal and external customers
• Meet customer commitments
• Identify, prioritize and drive process improvement opportunities that contribute to product quality and minimize cost of quality       

Qualifications/Requirements :

• Bachelor's  Degree  in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university

Eligibility Requirements:

• Ability and willingness to occasionally travel to domestic and international plant sites (less than 20%).
• The required work location for this role is at the GEH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC
• Relocation to Wilmington, NC may be required for certain Electrical Component Engineer positions – this can be discussed with your recruiter to ensure we find the right fit for your needs!

The salary range for this position is $70k-101k. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus.
