Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Onboarding Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for individuals seeking assistance with their benefits, providing vital support through intake calls, email correspondence, and answering questions related to benefits research. This role requires a high level of empathy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide accurate and helpful information.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct intake calls to understand the needs of individuals and gather necessary information for benefits processing.
- Respond promptly and professionally to emails from individuals seeking information or assistance with their benefits.
- Provide clear, accurate, and supportive answers to questions over email, ensuring that individuals receive the guidance they need.
- Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity while handling personal information and discussing individuals’ circumstances.
- Collaborate with our research team to relay information gathered during intake and ensure a seamless support experience.
- Keep detailed records of interactions with clients, updating our database with notes from calls and emails.
- Stay informed about the latest policies, benefits, and procedures to provide the most current advice and support.Qualifications:
- Proven experience in customer service, support roles, or a related field, preferably with a focus on benefits services or support.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to explain complex information in a clear and empathetic manner.
- Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using email, databases, and office software.
- A commitment to supporting individuals with patience, respect, and confidentiality.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of benefits processes and services.
- Experience working in a nonprofit or service-oriented environment.
