POSITION: Technical Training Developer
DEPARTMENT: Administration

SUMMARY:
General Responsibilities:
The Technical Training Developer is responsible for creating and developing curriculum in support of the education team. This role will perform a variety of tasks including but not limited to support of Web-based learning systems, computer software or hardware, providing technical support, administrative tasks, coordinating facility logistics/equipment/training aids and maintaining information in various systems and interaction with external partners. The Technical Training Developer will also maintain the most updated information for course material by attending training classes or working with internal personnel to capture the information.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
65% Develops and maintains training curriculum for BCS University.
- Conducting research and collaborates with educators, subject experts, stakeholders, and other professionals to develop curriculum and learning resources in alignment with BCSU.
- Design, develop, and produce training materials and tools via computer-based training modules (e-learning), animations, training presentations, and training videos.
- Evaluate course content for all training modules and tools by creating task analysis, overall objectives, hands on/interactive and computer-based training programs, assessments and training materials.
- Develop and administer written, online or verbal assessments to gauge the effectiveness of the training programs and materials.
- Responsible for expanding the use of technology and computer-based programs.
- Supports training staff by providing course lesson plans or supportive materials, instructor guides, establishing processes, procuring training materials, and is a resource on specialized training issues.
- Collaborates with the Education Manager, Technical Trainers, manufacturer’s representatives, and other applicable parties to determine specific training objectives and training materials needed for external and internal students.
- Establishes standards for all training courses and material.
- Monitors student progress and makes any relevant changes to curriculum as needed.
- Establishes criteria and knowledge assessments/requirements for position levels (example: System Specialist I vs System Specialist III knowledge or skill requirements).
- Grades all pre and post assessments for students and provides feedback as necessary.
- Conducts and tracks surveys and feedback questionnaires to evaluate effectiveness of training.
- May assist in delivery of training to external customers and internal personnel.
- May assist with lodging and/or per diem for students.
25% Attend and engage in ongoing training and development.
- Attends required training to become fully certified on the subject material.
- Studies literature and attends seminars, webinars, or additional training to keep current on products, processes and materials.
- Serves as the primary liaison between students and product line representatives.
- Identify, hire and facilitate training of necessary technical trainers
10% Assists with training database for all internal or external students.
- Support Education Manager in updating and maintaining the Learning Management database.
- Manages online training content and reports in the Learning Management System.
- Administers training certificate or certificate of completion to students.
- Provides assistance in marketing or filling classes by analyzing upcoming rosters, as needed.
- Update and track progress of students based on required training.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in related discipline preferred
Skills and Experience
- Minimum 2 years in technical training and/or curriculum writing experience, preferred.
- Ability to collaborate with individuals at varying skill and experience levels throughout the organization and with customers.
- Possesses strong leadership and public speaking skills.
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
- Must be creative and think unconventionally to find ways to communicate technical training to individuals.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for conducting training courses to employees and customers.
- Experience with video/photo production and editing, e-learning development software, and Adobe suite software, preferred.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
