Overview & Purpose
PAID SUMMER INTERNSHIP : $20.00/Hour
Target 11-week Internship Dates: 5/20/24 – 8/1/24
(4-10 work schedule M-Th 6am – 4:30pm) Some flexibility with scheduled hours. There may be the option for a few telecommute days, but not on a weekly basis (conditions apply).
Position Responsibilities
+ Work with CAP EH&S staff to assess and quantify employee exposure to various occupational hazards such as noise, chemicals, and particulates.
+ Assist EH&S staff with conducting workplace inspections at various facilities.
+ Assist with water sampling, and waste collection and disposal.
+ Assist with confined space field audits.
+ Update the Safety Data Sheet database with current SDS for high use chemicals.
+ At end of the 11-week engagement, intern will prepare and deliver a presentation which includes:
+ A summary of the work
+ What he/she learned
+ An evaluation of the intern experience at CAP
+ Recommendations for future interns
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS :
+ Junior or higher level student (or recent grad) working toward a degree in Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Environmental Sciences, or similar field.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
+ Clear oral communication skills.
+ Excellent writing abilities.
+ Must have a valid Driver’s License, maintain a good driving record, and have at least TWO YEARS of driving experience.
+ Must submit transcripts (official or unofficial) with the online application.
+ Must be legally authorized to work a paid internship in the United States.
