Wellstar Health Systems is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Trauma Acute Care surgeon to join a 4-surgeon practice at Level II ACS-verified Wellstar North Fulton Hospital in the Roswell/Alpharetta area, just north of Atlanta.

This young and energetic group is primarily responsible for covering trauma call and acute care surgery cases, with plan to expand elective surgical practice.

Highlights include:

Flexible call schedule: Typical call is one weekend per month, with weeks of call Monday-Friday shared equally between partners.

Call during the week consists of 12-hour shifts (7a-7p) with scheduled and consistent backup available. Call requirements will not exceed 7 24-hour periods (or 14 12-hour calls) per month.

Opportunity to expand elective practice on weeks not covering trauma call.

APP support with PA-C present during the week for rounding/orders/notes, or to first assist in OR, and plans to hire additional PA support for clinic and at nights inpatient.

Teaching opportunity, as surgical residents from Kennestone Hospital (formerly Atlanta Medical Center) rotate through our hospital and are in-house during weekend call.

Great work-life balance with protected time away from the hospital with which you can enjoy all that the Atlanta area has to offer!

Typical monthly schedule includes one weekend of call, one week of call with 5 (Monday-Friday) 12-hour shifts, and free time to see and perform elective cases. Also, would have 1 day of clinic per week when not on call. Night call is covered equally among the remaining partners, and call is taken from home.

Roswell/Alpharetta is a sought-after area just outside of the city of Atlanta and only about 45 minutes from the Atlanta airport. The area offers excellent schools, great neighborhoods, miles of hiking trails, endless entertainment including live music, restaurants, shopping, festivals and more.

Candidates must be board certified in general surgery and surgical critical care/trauma surgery.
