Senior IT Support Engineer

Job description
This position will serve as a highly flexible primary point of contact for IT issues and contribute to desktop/laptop/Azure/Active Directory setup and maintenance. While a major component of the responsibility for this role will be focused on supporting the Griffis Residential Corporate Office, some energy will also be devoted to supporting our remote sites.
- Ensuring optimal operation for all Griffis Residential Information Technology products, including, but not limited to, desktops, laptops, telecom, networking, and applications/software.
- Procure, set up, and inventory IT equipment as needed.
- Troubleshoot IT issues and coordinate with our Managed Service Provider.
- Associate’s degree or above in computer science, information systems, or related field is preferred.
- 3-5 years of prior experience working on a Helpdesk, in IT, or similar technical function.
- Experience with virtual desktop environments (VMware, Azure) on Windows and Macintosh operating systems will be critical to this role. Azure Virtual Desktops is our future direction, while Vmware Horizons is our current virtual desktop platform.
- Experience with switches, routers, and network configurations is required.
- Experience with Active Directory security is critical.
- Strong familiarity with desktop and laptop hardware and software setups.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills while maintaining an anchor in cyber security.
- Pluses include certifications from Microsoft and/or CompTIA and experience with networking, Cloud resources (OneDrive, Dropbox), telecom, and personal devices (tablets/phones).
