Wright Risk Management LLC, a division of Brown & Brown, serves as a management company providing claims administration, risk management & loss control, underwriting & marketing, and client services in New York for the NY Schools Insurance Reciprocal (NYSIR), NY Municipal Insurance Reciprocal (NYMIR) and the national education program for Wright Specialty Insurance.
This position will be responsible for the handling of first party property losses, proactively handling claims from first notice of loss through ultimate resolution.
Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsibilities:
Manage and adjust first party property claims, ensuring the highest level of customer service and technical claim file quality.
Secure all pertinent documentation related to the loss.
Assign and manage the activities of independent adjustors and other vendors.
Evaluate loss and policy information to make proper coverage assessments.
Refer cases timely to Claims Manager regarding potential for large loss or coverage concerns.
Establish and maintain adequate and timely indemnity and expense reserves within examiner authority, or make claim recommendations concerning reserve changes.
Analyze and draft coverage letters as appropriate and communicate coverage positions effectively.
Draft Large Loss reports and participate in Large Loss Committee and/or Reinsurance reviews.
Coordinate and proactively handle the cause and origin investigation process and ensure timely identification and pursuit of subrogation.
Inspect losses in the field as necessary.

Required:
Bachelor's degree or life experience
New York State General Adjuster's license
Additional state Adjuster licenses to be obtained
Good telephone demeanor
Proficient use of a PC
Valid driver's license
Physical Requirements Necessary on a Regular Basis:
Ability to sit at a desk and body range motion for use of a keyboard, mouse and telephone
Ability to visit loss sites, possibly climbing amongst the devastation
Speech and hearing sufficient for in-person and telephone communication
