Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead a team of refrigeration technicians to ensure the smooth operation of the warehouse refrigeration systems
- Oversee the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial ammonia and freon-based refrigeration systems for both internal technicians and contractors
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate refrigeration activities and support overall warehouse operations
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards related to refrigeration systems
- Train, mentor, and evaluate refrigeration staff to enhance their skills and knowledge and adhere to company policies
- Implement continuous improvement strategies to reduce costs and enhance productivity
Responsibilities:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience as an industrial refrigeration technician, with a focus on both ammonia and freon-based systems
- Proven leadership experience in managing refrigeration teams in a warehouse or cold-storage facility
- In-depth knowledge of refrigeration principles, equipment, and systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and requires bending, carrying, pushing, pulling, and any other physical activities as needed
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in industrial refrigeration
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, understand a commitment to a 24/7 operation and handle multiple priorities
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant industry experience
- Industrial refrigeration systems certification
- Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System
