Starting salary: $77,501 – $91,187
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. The starting salary range represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Job Summary

Initiate and manage all phases of interactions and projects with business, industry, and/or other organizations to optimize organization performance and effectiveness. Phases of interactions and projects can include but are not limited to need identification, resource allocation, development, marketing, implementation and coordination of activities.



Essential Functions

Qualify the client to evaluate funding options and recommend which to pursue. Shepherding the client through the application process, gather required documents from the client and then submit to the State of Iowa’s 260F online system for approval. Prepare and ensure all documents are ready for the board of directors for approval. 260F: Ensure compliance with State regulations. Train client employees on the training management system to ensure proper reimbursement and supporting documentation for expenses. File final project performance report with the State of Iowa. Foster economic development by growing businesses in Central Iowa and helping them become more productive and profitable.


Develop strategic partnerships with companies by building trust and learning about the company and understanding their culture. Once completed, partner with company to determine needs as well as the best resource and structure to develop their employees. Aid the trainer in setting up the training event. Submit the proposal, prepare the training contract, invoice the customer/utilize training grant funding, pay the instructor, gather registration & evaluation data. Follow up to ensure client satisfaction, explore ongoing training opportunities as well as provide support.

Follow-up with client to ensure that past-due invoices are paid.


Serve on economic development/organizational boards, support 10KSB & Venture school efforts, nurture relationships with economic developers/Greater Des Moines Partnership in the communities we serve. Represent DBR and DMACC on executive committees as well as attend meetings/events.


Develop relationships with training providers in Central Iowa to meet training needs of clients. Meet with training providers, train them on expectations/representation of the college, complete required paperwork, coordinate trainer days. Maintain database of training resources by subject. Follow up with trainers after trainings to gather feedback and share with them any evaluation data.


Perform other duties as assigned.



Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in education, business, or related.
Four years experience in a business, insurance or manufacturing environment in sales, training implementation and coordination, economic development or other closely related area.
Demonstrated experience in project management. Strong communication skills.
Ability to plan, organize and manage time.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a professional working relationship with a wide variety of individuals coming from diverse backgrounds.
Knowledge of current software applications.

Experience working with community colleges.
Demonstration of collaborative work style.
