Fast-growing, Minneapolis-based nonprofit seeks a part-time Marketing Intern who is passionate about PreK-12 education. AdoptAClassroom.org is an online, national nonprofit organization that raises funds from individual and corporate donors to provide teachers and schools with the classroom supplies needed to support student learning and success. Many educators would otherwise spend an average of $860 per year of their own money to purchase the supplies that they need to do their jobs.

AdoptAClassroom.org is looking for a part-time Marketing Intern (20 hours/week). The Marketing Intern will create social media and blog content for our teacher audience based on collected teacher stories and data. The position reports to the Senior Marketing Coordinator and will work closely with the Marketing Team. This position is a great opportunity for an up-and-coming professional writer looking for experience in nonprofit marketing in a fast-paced-but-mission-driven setting.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Write and create content to help raise awareness of the organization’s mission, such as blog content leveraging SEO strategies and publication of the annual teacher survey. 
• Create engaging social media posts (graphics and video) and blog images from collected teacher content using Canva.
• Participate in brainstorming to help develop new ideas for blog, social media, and email projects. 
• Assist in other writing and content creation tasks as needed. 

Skills necessary to be successful in this position: 

• Strong writing skills
• Familiarity with creating content for Facebook, X, Instagram, and LinkedIn
• Proficiency using Google Suite and Microsoft Word Documents
• Comfort with designing images and creating videos using Canva
• Team-oriented and flexible
• Enthusiasm for brainstorming and generating fresh, creative ideas
• Passion for supporting PreK-12 teachers and improving equity in education
