Job description

BASIC FUNCTION : Assist in the daily and emergency operation and maintenance of all GMP facilities. This includes the supervision of and inspection of facilities. Effectively and safely lead facility projects of all size and complexity with a specialty in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair.

Be familiar with project drawings, specifications, equipment maintenance procedures and service manual as well as general maintenance in all areas.

Responsibilities :

• Perform all aspect of mechanical maintenance and repair necessary to support GMP facilities.
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of Company's safety rules and practices and perform duties accordingly. Be responsible for the safety working condition of all tools and vehicles normally used by the Facilities Department.
• Be proficient in estimating needs for all types of Facilities projects.
• Be responsible for maintaining the Facilities shop, garage, and other areas in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
• Be responsible to preventive maintenance spare parts inventories to reduce equipment downtime.
• Assist in determining when outside contractors should be called in to address specific problems or projects.
• Assist in the preparation of drawings, specifications, cost estimates and evaluations for construction projects, maintenance, or other assignments.
• Assist with invoicing and record keeping for cost control and budgeting of projects and maintenance.
• Be able to identify, handle hazardous materials in safe, approved manner.

Desired Skills & Attributes :

• Valid Vermont driver's license.
• Valid VT State electrical license for hydronics or HVAC
• Physically able to perform manual labor and use hand and power tool on maintenance and repair projects.
• Experience supervising contract personnel.
• High degree of trustworthiness must be a self-starter, able to select priorities and to make productive use of time.
• Keen skills for trouble shooting electrical, plumbing and equipment problems.
• CTEP/LP certification
• State Oil Tech certificate.
• Refrigerant usage certification
• Must be able to identify and manage various materials which some are considered hazardous to health and the environment.
• DOT required medical examiners' certificate.
• Master Plumber License preferred
• Commercial oil burner experience
• Plumbing repair/installation experience
