Description

As a Fraud Investigator, you will play a critical role in identifying, analyzing, and preventing fraudulent activities within the organization. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, you will conduct investigations, gather evidence, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks and protect the company’s assets. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to maintaining integrity and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Fraud Detection and Analysis:

+ Utilize data analysis techniques and fraud detection tools to identify suspicious patterns, anomalies, and potential fraudulent activities.

+ Review transactional data, financial records, and customer information to detect fraudulent behavior or irregularities.

+ Conduct in-depth investigations into suspected cases of fraud, including reviewing documentation, interviewing witnesses, and analyzing evidence.

Investigative Techniques:

+ Develop and implement investigative strategies and methodologies to uncover fraudulent schemes and activities.

+ Collect and preserve evidence, ensuring chain of custody and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.

+ Interview suspects, witnesses, and relevant parties to gather information and establish facts related to fraud allegations.

Documentation and Reporting:

+ Document findings, observations, and investigative actions in detailed reports and case files.

+ Prepare and present investigative reports, including summaries of findings, conclusions, and recommendations for remedial actions.

+ Maintain accurate records of investigations, evidence, and case status in accordance with departmental procedures and guidelines.

Collaboration and Communication:

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including compliance, legal, risk management, and law enforcement agencies, to coordinate investigations and share information.

+ Communicate investigative findings, risks, and recommendations to relevant stakeholders, including senior management and external partners.

+ Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on fraud prevention best practices, policies, and procedures.

Fraud Prevention and Mitigation:

+ Develop and implement fraud prevention strategies, controls, and measures to minimize the risk of fraudulent activities.

+ Monitor and assess existing fraud detection systems and tools, recommending enhancements and improvements as needed.

+ Conduct training sessions and awareness programs for employees on fraud awareness, detection, and prevention techniques.

Requirements

+ Proven experience in fraud investigation, preferably in a corporate or financial services environment.

+ Strong knowledge of fraud detection techniques, investigative procedures, and regulatory requirements.

+ Proficiency in data analysis and forensic tools, as well as familiarity with financial and transactional systems.

+ Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw meaningful conclusions.

+ Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present findings and recommendations to diverse audiences.

+ Detail-oriented, with a commitment to accuracy, integrity, and ethical conduct in all investigative activities.
