Job description
Our client is a Process Safety and Engineering Consulting Firm based in FL specializing in dust hazard analysis. This is a full time W2 role.
Role is onsite in West Palm Beach, FL with relocation provided.
Position Summary:
We are currently looking for two full-time Process Safety Consultant to perform consulting services related to the process safety hazards of combustible dust including Dust Hazard Analysis (DHA), Combustible Dust Testing, Training Courses, Incident Investigation, and Review of Protection Design.
Responsibilities:
- Act as expert advisor to clients to develop a trusting relationship
- Perform Dust Hazard Analysis (DHA), HAC, PHA, HAZOP
- Review others’ DHA Reports, acting as Peer Reviewer, to ensure completeness and correctness of the analysis and recommendations.
- Work with clients and laboratory staff to provide expertise on Combustible Dust Testing practices including sampling plans, test methods, and interpreting results
- Lead Training Courses for clients seeking to ensure that their staff is adequately prepared to face the hazards of combustible dust in the workplace or to design new systems that comply with NFPA and/or other engineering best practices
- Present expert knowledge at Industry Conferences and Trade Shows
- Overnight travel within North America 30%-50%
- Publish technical articles and white papers and present at industry conferences
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Fire Protection, or related field required
- Advanced Degree or Certification (PE, MS, PhD, CSP, CFEI, etc.) is an asset
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in c ombustible dust related engineering and/or process safety
- Ability to speak Spanish, Portuguese and/or French conversationally is an asset
- Ability to read and explain PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment drawings
