Source Pro Search is conducting a search for an Engineer level 1 to Sr. Engineer- Production - Prop Shaft. Join a major and established international company with an exciting opportunity for an Engineer at their expansive manufacturing complex, conveniently located to the east of the Atlanta metropolitan area. This role offers competitive compensation, excellent benefits, and a 1-2% bonus potential, with salary varying based on experience. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Perform research, design, and development of manufacturing processes, including production flow, assembly methods, and production equipment. Prepare and maintain detailed layouts of buildings and equipment. Coordinate the manufacturing launch of new/revised products, establishing goals, training team members, and evaluating results. Create manning plans based on volume forecasts for new programs. Provide input to product design based on the design for manufacture/design for assembly philosophy. Design, develop, test, and/or source various tools, machinery, and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods. Conduct product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and increased efficiency. Develop and document quality systems for new programs (control plan, PFMEA, process flow, work instructions, and inspection plans). Coordinate and document all Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities. Calculate required dunnage usage, design, test, and order all necessary dunnage for new programs. Develop and maintain documentation such as downtime, scrap, and efficiencies. Utilize data, such as downtime, scrap, efficiencies, etc., to plan and strategize countermeasures for equipment and process problems. Lead or participate in Kaizen activities to ensure continuous improvement in processes, products, components, raw materials, and equipment. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with at least 1 year of Engineering experience; 8 or more years of experience required at the Sr. level. Experience in the automotive manufacturing industry is preferred. Assembly process experience is necessary. Industrial paint process experience in a high-volume environment is required at the Sr. Engineer level. Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques. Technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods, including flow, layout, assembly, and production equipment. Problem analysis and problem resolution. Familiarity with current automotive standards and OSHA regulations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to motivate team efforts to accomplish goals. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; some Access experience preferred. Controls and robotics experience is a plus. Other experience of value: Poka Yokes implementation Continuous improvement APQP, PFMEA, root cause analysis AutoCAD and Solid Works SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Required to sit or stand and move about the facility. Occasional lifting of items not to exceed 50 lbs. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Combination of office and plant environment. May be required to use safety glasses and wear steel toe shoes while performing specific tasks or while in specific manufacturing areas.
