Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Light Commercial CAD Drafter to join our dynamic team. The primary focus will be on developing detailed plans for a 100,000 sq ft strip mall project. This role involves collaborating closely with architects and engineers to convert their designs into precise technical plans using AutoCAD software.
This role could be 100% remote, with one meeting on-site per week to check in on things if candidates already have a set-up at home.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to gather product and structural requirements for the strip mall project.
- Use AutoCAD software to create detailed 2D and 3D drawings and models of the building.
- Calculate dimensions, material specifications, and weight limitations.
- Develop product designs from initial concepts to final models, ensuring adherence to safety and structural standards.
- Prepare multiple versions of designs for review and incorporate changes recommended by the engineering team.
- Create assembly instructions and check the dimensions of materials to be used.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant regulations and quality standards.
- Liaise with clients and other professionals as required for project coordination and feedback.
Qualifications: - Proven work experience as a Drafter or similar role, specifically in light commercial projects.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD software
- Good mathematical skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. An Associate's degree in drafting or a related field may be considered depending on experience.
- Excellent technical design and drafting skills.
- Strong communication and project management abilities.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work effectively in a team environment.
