What we need:
Mohawk is looking for a Senior Manager of Tax Technology who can do more for all Mohawk brands.
This position is responsible for continuous technology transformation to streamline and automate processes and maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of global tax functions.
What you’ll do:
- Leverage existing systems/data to implement software and/or data flow to minimize manual data manipulation and streamline multiple uses for the same data. Ensure that all developments/enhancements satisfy or further strengthen internal controls.
- Forward-thinking in determining optimization for data use and gathering of data, to support the integrity and auditability of the data used for tax compliance and reporting.
- Create data analytics to be used for analysis. This will be used to determine outliers, identify fluxes, highlight unusual activity, determine trends, and guide future decision-making.
- Collaborate with all tax members to identify optimization opportunities. Develop and maintain a transformation road map identifying and prioritizing solutions.
- Drive change by communicating the benefits of proposed changes to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Lead cross-capability teams to deliver results.
- Oversee the Department's involvement in financial information re-engineering projects in other areas across the company that impact the tax function.
- Works with corporate tax, business units, accounting, and outside consultants to leverage technology solutions for the tax department.
- Maintain process and policy documentation to support compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 tax accounting internal controls.
- Communication and coordination of all things tax technology related with all partners, Business Unit operations, finance, and Tax.
- Coordination and training offshore team members.
- Provide support to team members and perform other duties as assigned.
What you have:
- Bachelor's Degree (BS/BA) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. CPA certification is preferred, showcasing your commitment to excellence in the field of taxation.
- Minimum of 10 years of a combination of corporate tax and tax technology experience. Solid understanding of tax principles across tax types and the ability to apply these principles to re-define processes, data, and technology for the tax department.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and theory.
- Working knowledge of tax applications, visualization, and ETL tools such as OneSource (OIT, OTP), Alteryx, and Microsoft Power BI.
- Working knowledge in various general ledger software systems including HFM, SAP, BPC, and Oracle.
- Experience developing analytics on large sets of data for review and or decision-making.
- Experience in project managing implementations or large initiatives.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Must effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
- Possesses a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously.
- Strong reading, analysis, and interpretation skills are essential for this role. Ability to review and comprehend complex tax regulations, guidelines, and financial documentation.
- Familiar with and capable of applying general knowledge in the absence of oral or documented guidelines. This includes understanding and adhering to the departmental procedures, practices, and standards set by the company.
- Self-starter, able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This means being proactive, motivated, and able to take the initiative to complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Be comfortable working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.
