National Sales Executive, ClinicalPath

About our Team The Clinical Solutions Division of Elsevier uses its industry-leading intellectual property and content to create Clinical and Drug Reference, Patient Engagement, Performance Management, Workflow and Decision Support products for healthcare professionals across a range of practice settings and commercial organizations.
These products and tools aid in disease management, medication error reductions, workflow improvements, effective patient management and economic analysis and cost control. The sales division of this position includes Elsevier ClinicalPath (formerly Via Oncology), interactive evidence-based tools used by practicing physicians at significant points in clinical decision workflow. These tools support health systems in achieving their clinical, quality, and operational goals.
The clinical pathways are delivered on a software platform that integrates with the local electronic health record. Beyond Elsevier ClinicalPath, the National Sales Executive will be given a unique opportunity to sell a comprehensive set of next-generation tools including diagnostic support tools, clinical alert tools, and clinical platforms for precision medicine & big data.
About the Role The National Sales Executive will achieve sales goals by identifying, qualifying, and closing business. Utilizing a solution-based, consultative approach. (Within both existing accounts and new customer opportunities). Your customer targets include independent physician practices, hospitals, integrated health networks, and academic medical centers. Customer call points are Service Line VPs, Chief Medical Officers, Chief Quality Officers, Chief Medical Informatics Officers, Chief Information Officers, up to the CEO level.
Responsibilities - Giving in-person and webinar-based live product demonstrations of Elsevier solutions. Providing detailed presentations on Solutions/Implementation activities. Informing customer's responsibility on implementation tasks/maintenance.
- Providing timely feedback to internal stakeholders - Acting as a liaison for communications between the marketplace and our division regarding market conditions, anomalies, challenges, and opportunities.
- Aligning Elsevier's Clinical Solutions products to resources available at the customer site. Supporting clinical activities, cross discipline communication (pharmacy, radiology, labs), and practice/hospital revenue cycle activities. Including understanding competitor's marketing and sales strategies, product strengths and weaknesses and creating sales strategies to win against them.
- Collecting and communicating marketplace 'intelligence' impacting pricing, promotional collateral, product enhancements and forecasting. Additionally, Communicating the value proposition for Clinical Path and related clinical decision support solutions.
- Contributing strategic thought, helping to execute a holistic segmentation plan that maximizes close rates on opportunities.
- Developing, monitoring, reporting, and other required management activities. Including building your pipeline consistently.
- Demonstrating seamless teamwork with Marketing, Sales Operations, Product Management & other cross-business counterparts. Including consistently providing timely & accurate CRM entry with field sales notes/visits and other pertinent customer information.
Requirements - Have relevant experience in the field of ancillary clinical system sales. (Decision support, add-on Computer Provider Order Entry, order-sets, care planning/care coordination, clinical alerts software, etc.) or Electronic Medical Record/EHR sales.
- Have a demonstrated track record of closing complex, long-term enterprise sales agreements. (With Academic Health Networks, Integrated Delivery Networks, or other matrixed healthcare delivery customers).
- Able to meet travel requirements of the position, up to 25% of working time. Reside in the US, based out of any US metropolitan area with easy access to a major airport. Coupled with the ability to work flexible hours. This may include evenings and weekends to accommodate sales and promotional activities. i.e. (trade shows and sales engagements in different time zones).
- Display a comprehensive understanding of sales operations, commercial operations, and finance organization operations. i.e. (budgeting, forecasting, using reporting to identify trends or predict future events, product launch process).
- Have a secondary education in natural sciences, or relevant discipline.
- Have exceptional communication skills. i.e. reading,
writing, speaking, and listening. Coupled with interpersonal skills and ability to work both cross functionally/collaboratively. - Have working knowledge of Windows & MS Office
(Excel & Windows) as well as networks, internet applications and CRM systems. Additionally, a depth of analytical and organizational skills. Including the ability to prepare and present relevant summaries of complex materials. - Display savvy webinar user, familiar with all platforms (Teams, Zoom, WebEx).
