Job description

The Department of Surgery at the MetroHealth System, a major teaching affiliate of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, is seeking a Board eligible/Board certified Colorectal Surgeon to join our full-time faculty. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The MetroHealth System is a county-owned, nationally recognized academic medical center and tertiary referral center with 731 licensed beds. MetroHealth is one of the largest, most comprehensive health care providers in Ohio with more than 700 primary care and specialty care physicians. All active staff physicians in the Department of Surgery hold faculty appointments at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. The MetroHealth system has its own General Surgery residency training program with 3 residents per year.

Position Overview:

As a Colorectal Surgeon at MetroHealth, you will be responsible for surgical evaluation and management of colorectal conditions. We are searching for an individual with a comprehensive skill set and a proactive, team-oriented mindset. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of delivering high-quality care and demonstrate a keen interest in endoscopy, management of anorectal disease and multi-disciplinary care for inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer.

Key Responsibilities:

Evaluation and management of colorectal conditions.

Commitment to advancing the institution's surgery program, making a meaningful impact on patient care and impacting the health of the community.

Actively participating in academic opportunities.

Engagement in multi-disciplinary care for inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer.

Involvement in resident and medical student education.

 

Qualifications:

Board eligible/Board certified in General and Colorectal Surgery with laparoscopic and robotic experience.

Commitment to education and training of medical students and residents.
