Join an agile highly motivated team of engineers responsible for the development and implementation of emerging autonomous technology for use in ground combat vehicles. The function of this position is to support the development of advanced autonomous capabilities across the domains of mobility, situational awareness, reconnaissance, human-machine integration, and operational mission planning & execution. Product teams work together using the latest advances in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Model Based Systems Engineering to bring these concepts to reality.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- Lead software design and development efforts regarding a mix of advanced capabilities, including but not limited to:
- Multi-asset command and control (crewed and un-crewed ground vehicles, UAVs)
- Tactical mission planning and Battle Management System integration
- Remote asset operation
- Support services / APIs
- Provide direction for team members including technology roadmaps and mentorship.
- Work with vendors/partners to integrate functionality of their systems/subsystems seemingly onto GDLS platforms.
- Understanding of feature/systems requirements and the ability to translate the requirements into validation test procedures and use cases.
- Generate documentation, software code and other artifacts for technology transfer to production programs.
- Participate in internal and customer demonstrations.
- Participate in peer reviews, identify, track and assess solutions to defects.
- Work closely with cross functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, operational performance requirements, and design of the overall system.
- Conduct research and evaluation of emerging techniques regarding software architectures, methodologies, and integration strategies
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Masters degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 15 years related engineering experience
- Strong background in high level programming language such as C & C++
- Strong scripting skills, including shell scripts, i.e. Bash, Python
- Strong experience with QT embedded programming environment
- Strong experience with pub/sub services like DDS
- Ability to perform general hands-on troubleshooting of electromechanical systems.
- Expertise working with Linux (Ubuntu).
- Expertise in networking, communication, and interface technologies and protocols CAN, TCP, UDP, DDS, MAVLink, JAUS, IOP, etc.
- Experience evaluating emerging technologies and success with integration of technologies onto platforms/products.
- Works well in team and individually.
- Be goal oriented and keep the team focused to task.
- Be able to multi-task on simultaneous development projects, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and mission scope.
- This position will require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance).
- This position may require the candidate to be able to climb on/off, work in, and work around military vehicles is desired. Must be able to pass ASR test (Anthropometric Size Requirement for confined space).
- The flexibility to work non-duty hours or on weekends as needed by the project.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and people skills required.
- Ability to travel when needed, minimal travel required for this role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiar with common open-source middleware and libraries like ROS, OpenCV, FACE, Rviz, PCL, etc.
- Experience with defense department processes and documentation standards
- Familiar with multi-vehicle coordination.
- Experience with MATLAB and GPU programming.
