Job description

Job Purpose: Support the Business Unit with quality engineering, which results in continuously improved quality of product purchased by our customers. The Quality Engineer is the primary interface with the customer relating to APQP, quality complaints and corrective actions; quality systems and customer quality expectations and customer specific requirements.
Qualifications
•    Education and Experience: B.S. degree in Engineering and/or 3-5 years automotive industry experience.
•    Knowledge: An understanding of quality process tools, i.e. APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, MSA, IATF16949, Auditing, etc. Good communication and organization skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Job:
1.    Designing, installing and evaluating quality assurance process sampling systems, procedures and statistical techniques;
2.    Designing or specifying inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment;
3.    Analyzing production and service limitations and standards;
4.    Recommending revisions of specifications when indicated;
5.    Assure that plant wide quality policies and instructions are adhered to by Whitehall employees.
6.    Assure inspection of product is conducted and data is analyzed
7.    Maintain (update) Quality documents i.e. Control Plan, FMEA, Flow Diagrams, P-Charts
8.    Support New Product Launches and Engineering changes
9.    Maintain PPAP tracking matrix.
10.    Submit PPAP's - APQP
11.    Communicate to the plant, Customer quality expectations and corrective/preventive actions
12.    Evaluate the effectiveness of corrective/preventive actions
13.    Analyze and disposition non-conforming material
14.    Log and follow-up quality complaints
Physical Demands: Requires standing or walking a total of 2-4 hours in an 8 hour day, but no more than 1 hour at any one time; sitting a total of 2-4 hours in an 8 hour day, but no more than 1 hour at any one time; frequently requires lifting less than 10 lbs, but occasionally may lift 50 lbs or less 3-5 times in a week; Intermittently (5-10% of the day) may need to stoop/bend, crouch, kneel, twist, reach and pull or push

Pay Details: $58,000.00 to $85,000.00 per year
