Department Summary: The Department of Spanish at UNT offers Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Spanish as well as a minor and a Certificate in Professional Spanish. There are about 85 Spanish majors and over 500 Spanish minors along with about 7 full graduate Teaching Assistants and Fellows. The faculty consists of 6 professors and 6 lecturers along with about 11 adjunct faculty members. The department is committed to preparing students to become global citizens through courses in language, culture, literature, linguistics and the professions that empower communicative and cultural competency for the 21st century. Position Summary: This Spanish Lecturer will teach classes at the undergraduate level including but not limited to: Spanish language; advanced courses in grammar, composition and conversation; courses in the professions; specialized courses at 3000 and 4000 levels. The teaching load will be 4 classes per semester including online sections. The Spanish Lecturer will also contribute to service duties in the department, such as committee membership, curricular development, cultural activities, etc.
Minimum Qualifications: M.A. in Spanish.
Fluency and mastery in Spanish and English.
Must have experience teaching at the university level.
Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. preferred
Physical Requirements: Ability to communicate
