Description: The Hampden County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) provides a continuum of care designed to empower the justice-involved population to reclaim their liberty through informed and responsible choices and promote their successful re-entry into the community as law-abiding socially and civically responsible citizens.

We are currently adding a Psychiatrist to our medical team! Fringe Benefits available include: pro-rated vacation week accrual; pro-rated personal day accrual; pro-rated sick-time week accrual; holidays and shift differential; member of the Commonwealth Retirement System; eligible for GIC insurance program; eligible for Deferred Compensation 457(b) plan; Sheriff's Office Cost of Living Adjustments.

The Psychiatrist will be responsible for the management and supervision of all providers assigned to psychiatric patients at HCSO and will assist the Medical Director in program development and quality improvement projects as assigned. The Psychiatrist also serves as principal investigator for research projects, participates in teaching and training of all mental health personnel and other HCSO health care staff, and is a key liaison consulting with Massachusetts Department of Mental Health providers, and other agencies, regarding the integration of medical and psychiatric treatment of HCSO patients

Work Schedule: 20 hours per week, Monday-Friday; two 8-hour shifts, one 4-hour shift
