Overview

As our Workplace Specialist, you will have the responsibility for overseeing the execution of policies, procedures, and programs to ensure an engaged and supported staff population. The Workplace Specialist will report to the Senior Director of Real Estate and Workplace and be part of the global Workplace Team. You will work full time onsite in our Seattle office.

Responsibilities

What you will do:

• Ensure the office environment and resources are conducive to employee productivity and well-being and reflect Avalara culture
• Develop, promote, and implement standards that enhance efficiencies
• Maintain the office space assuring it is in functional condition and up to Avalara look and feel standards
• Purchase office supplies and equipment maintaining inventory and distribution throughout the office
• You will work with and assist micro-market vendors to ensure fresh and quality offerings while maintaining top-notch service
• Coordinate and manager in-office meetings and events
• Receive and sort incoming mail and deliveries, and manage outgoing mail working with vendors and internal leaders to provide the most efficient process
• You will oversee the implementation of assigned employee programs (examples - anniversary, newborn, AvaKids, etc)
• Manage purchase order process and submit accurate expense reports
• Work on special projects as assigned providing status updates and staying within the allocated budget and timeline
• Coordinate with the Internal Communications Team regarding office-specific communications while also maintaining clear information on our intranet
• Provide a welcoming and inviting front-desk reception experience
• Work as a collaborative team member within the local Workplace Team providing backup support where needed

Qualifications

What you will need to be successful:

• 3+ years of employee engagement experience
• 2+ years of office experience
• Knowledge of office management responsibilities and procedures
• Build trust and relationships internally and externally
• Support our mission to work in a team environment with a warm, engaging demeanor
• Expeditious, and reliable, service to customer needs
• Superb efficiency in completing and prioritizing work
• Ability to problem solve offering creative solutions
• Intermediate level with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Intermediate level with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms)

Pay Range Details

The base pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Colorado $59,800-$92,800(annually)

Washington $59,800-102,500 (annually)

California $59,800-$102,500 (annually)

NYC $66,100-102,500 (annually)

 

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The successful candidate's actual salary/wage may be based on various factors, such as geographic location, candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. This role is eligible for an annual bonus based on company performance, depending on the terms of the applicable plan and the employee's role.
