Job Summary
The Assistant Director of ICI Operations has the primary responsibility to coordinate ICI's technical operations activities (e.g., computing, infrastructure, data storage, networking, cybersecurity, database services) to ensure the reliable and optimized delivery of those services to NCSA projects and partners. The incumbent will achieve this through developing operational standards and processes, ensuring robust management practices are employed across ICI, and by working closely with the ICI Associate Director and project teams that fund ICI staff to support and advance NCSA's cyberinfrastructure. The Assistant Director of ICI Operations has as direct reports all ICI operational/technical team leads (e.g., computing, infrastructure, data storage, networking, cybersecurity, database services).Duties & Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required in the fields of science, engineering, or business. Alternative degree fields will be considered/accepted if accompanied by equivalent, relevant experience (depending on nature and depth of experience as it relates to current NCSA activities). • 10 years’ required experience in operations of production-level research cyberinfrastructure services, resources, and/or advanced technology environments that supports scientific and engineering research needs. • 5 years’ experience in the management of technical personnel.

This is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 5/1/2024. Salary is commensurate with experience. The expected minimum salary is $140,000.
