Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant to join the Lighting Sector Kenall Team in Kenosha, WI.
What Will You Do?
Essential Responsibilties:
- Prepare properly supported journal entries, post journal entries, and maintain the journal the entry log.
- Complete reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts, ensure accounts are supported by the appropriate source support, and perform peer reviews of other team member’s reconciliations.
- Review P&L accounts to ensure spend is properly classified.
- Co-ordinate the fixed asset cycle including ensuring proper authorization is obtained for capital projects, monitoring capital spend, placing completed projects into service, calculating depreciation, recording disposals, performing the fixed asset inventory, and administrating the BNA fixed asset system.
- Co-ordinate the Concur process for purchasing and travel & entertainment expenses by ensuring all activity is entered, reviewed, and approved in Concur, performing closing processes, and preparing quarterly gift reporting.
- Ensure prepaid expenses are supported and accounted for.
- Co-ordinate the intercompany process and reconcile intercompany activity.
- Prepare the Wisconsin state personal property tax return.
- Co-ordinate the vendor set-up process ensure proper documentation is received prior before setting up the new vendor.
- Prepare 1099’s annually.
- Provide back-up support to the costing process.
- Design, implement, and monitor controls over financial processes.
- Design, implement, and maintain standard accounting and finance processes and templates.
- Create, maintain, and document procedures for assigned tasks.
- Participate and/or lead process improvement projects and enhancement of ERP capabilities.
- Provide support to general accounting (AR, AP, and Accounting Assistant).
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
General Responsibilities:
- Set goals and objectives with Senior Accountant.
- Meet deadlines and established goals.
- Continuously look for ways to improve quality and productivity.
- Provide timely status updates to the team on tasks, projects, etc.
- Participate in ongoing individual training / development program.
- Maintain good housekeeping conditions in work area.
- Report abnormalities in equipment, machines, programs and processes.
- Perform backup functions to other team members and Controller as instructed. Engage in cross-training to support back-up efforts as directed. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Two years plus of accounting and finance experience.
- Organized, deadline driven, and detail oriented.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills as required to discuss training, general direction, and other position-related tasks.
- Knowledge of and experience in accounting principles and procedures.
- Highly computer literate including Microsoft Office Suite and Power BI.
- Working knowledge of the fixed asset cycle.
- Working knowledge of p-card and T&E expense book processing through concur.
- Experience in manufacturing a plus but not required.
- Ability to work within a team environment.
- Ability to manage, prioritize and balance multiple tasks.
- High level of self-initiative and dependability.
- Demonstrated ability to display strong customer service skills.
- Must be flexible to perform overtime duties or adjust schedule when required.
- Must be flexible and willing to pitch in as needed.
- Possess positive “can do” attitude.
- Must be professional in appearance and attitude and possess the ability to work in a professional manner with customers, vendors, and employees as all levels.
