Job description
The General Manager has overall responsibility for the P&L of the Plant. The General Manager is responsible for effectively leading and profitably managing all operational and human capital aspects (team, safety, environmental, facility, product, and equipment) of the Plant to ensure deliverables are met timely, safely and efficiently in accordance with company standards and customer requirements.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Manages and directs all aspects of the Plant operations, including manufacturing, materials management, production planning, scheduling, maintenance, quality control, safety, and warehouse management.
- Monitors, develops and executes annual operating plans and budgets to support the business unit’s strategic objectives, and manage the Plant’s P&L.
- Provides Plant’s strategic and cultural leadership by developing long range/annual plans, evaluating and reporting progress on plans to California Headquarters.
- Promotes and continually drives a culture of continuous improvement.
- Develops and implements Plant's strategic initiatives in alignment with organizational goals and objectives to achieve deliverables and continually raise the bar.
- Manages daily operations to achieve the budgeted operating profit and working capital targets.
- Provides and maintains a positive, productive and communicative team-based work environment where associates are empowered, accountable, driven and continually developing to achieve optimal results.
- Leads by example and creates and maintains strong partnerships and positive relationships with internal and external associates through open communication, transparency and performance measurement/feedback. Facilitates cooperation and motivates team members to accomplish group goals.
- Oversees Plant’s Human Capital Management.
- Leads and manages all activities related to talent management, training and development, coaching and counseling, recruiting, and separations in partnership with Management and Human Resources to achieve top performance.
- Fosters a “safety first” culture through training, evaluation and continual focus and ensures facility and associate compliance with federal, state and local EH&S laws and regulations.
- Maintains high morale through effective management, including frequent reinforcement of positive behavior and recognition of high performance.
- In partnership with Human Resources and Department Leaders, ensures all operational support is provided and complete appropriate training and development.
- Allocates team resources appropriately to ensure the completion of deliverables and delivery of optimal service to our customers and manages labor expenses including overtime at facility to be within or under budget or approved levels.
- Coordinates accordingly to maximize facility operations (open, lights on, equipment fully functional) in adherence with the company schedule and business requirements.
- Ensures that site has processes in place to satisfy 100% customer order fulfillment
- Ensures the security of the facility, inventory, materials and all site assets.
- Plans, organizes, directs and runs optimum day-to-day operations to exceed planned deliverables.
- Improves and/or develops systems and processes that track and optimize productivity standards and metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets.
- Monitors operational expenses and looks for ways to improve efficiencies/reduce cost while maintaining productivity, safety and product quality.
- In collaboration with leadership, tracks and takes appropriate action where trends are not positive, or when results are below company benchmarks/goals/targets.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s d egree in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial or similar engineering field
- 15+ General Manager experience in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment
- Experience in injection molding equipment and PLC control equipment
Computer Skills: Proficient Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems
