Our client is a leading technology solutions provider specializing in data center management services, and is seeking an experienced and highly organized Data Center Hardware Relocation Project Manager to join our dynamic team.

**This is a long-term contract opportunity that will require national and international travel to oversee data center relocation projects. This is a long-term contract that is based on a per-project basis. ** Position Overview: As the Data Center Hardware Relocation Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless and efficient relocation of physical data center hardware for our clients. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the relocation process, from initial planning and coordination to execution and post-relocation support. This role requires a strong understanding of data center infrastructure and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Project Planning and Initiation: - Collaborate with clients to understand their relocation needs and objectives.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets.
- Identify and allocate necessary resources, including personnel, equipment, and third-party vendors.
Execution and Coordination: - Lead cross-functional teams, including technicians, engineers, and vendors, to ensure a smooth relocation process.
- Monitor project progress and make real-time adjustments as needed to meet project goals.
- Ensure all safety and security protocols are followed during the hardware relocation.
Risk Management: - Identify potential risks and issues that may arise during the relocation process.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions.
- Proactively communicate any deviations from the plan to stakeholders.
Communication and Reporting: - Maintain clear and transparent communication with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Provide regular project status updates and reports to clients and senior management.
- Document all project activities, issues, and resolutions.
Post-Relocation Support: - Offer post-relocation support to address any unforeseen issues.
- Conduct a comprehensive review of the project to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
- Assist clients in optimizing their data center infrastructure post-relocation.
Qualifications: - Proven experience (10 years) in project management, specifically in data center hardware relocations.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, including servers, networking equipment, and storage systems.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Prior military background is highly desirable
- Ability to travel nationally and internationally for project moves- a tentative schedule will be shared during interview
Familiarity with industry standards and best practices related to data center operations
