Eurofins Agroscience Services is searching for a Director of Operations, to work in our Residue Chemistry Department in Columbia, MO.
Director responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :
Plans, coordinates, and directs client-contracted programs for research, product development, and improvement of manufacturing processes.
Directs technical resources in the form of staff, equipment, and facilities to provide company’s service to the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, and chemical industries.
Provides for adherence to established standards, policies, protocols, standard operating procedures, and governmental regulatory standards relative to the services provided by the group.
Leads and/or delegates day-to-day activities of subordinates in order to achieve expected results in terms of technical and quality performance according to applicable government regulations, manufacturing processes, or other considerations and approves creation and/or modification of standards, procedures, specifications, and processes.
Responsible for the technical product quality that is produced by the operating group. Responsible for the day-to-day activities of supervisory capital and labor resources to achieve client contractual obligations. Reviews research, testing, quality control/assurance, and other operational reports to ensure that quality standards, efficiency, and schedules are met.
Directs overall strategy plan for quality improvement initiatives and utilizes data generated from applicable sources to lead the quality focus of the department.
Interprets results of laboratory activities to laboratory personnel, management, and professional and technical societies; prepares reports and technical papers.
Directs and administers assigned functions to ensure high quality, cost effective services, which meet or surpass all regulatory standards. Maintains and guides the implementation of organizational policies and procedures in compliance with state, federal, and other regulatory guidelines.
Prepares reports and technical papers.
Advises and assists in obtaining patents for products, processes, and/or equipment.
Other duties as required for the effective and efficient operation of the laboratory and company in general.
The ideal candidate would possess:
Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
Basic Minimum Qualifications
:
Bachelor's Degree or beyond in a relevant field such as biology, biochemistry, chemistry, engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, or other directly related field or degree with comparable course work and a minimum of ten (10) years’ of increasingly responsible industry experience. A significant history supervisory/management experience is required.
A Master’s degree in relevant fields as described above and a minimum of seven (7) years of increasingly responsible industry experience. A significant history of supervisory/management experience is required.
A PhD in relevant fields as describer above and a minimum of five (5) years of increasingly responsible industry experience. A significant history of supervisory/management experience is required.
Regulatory testing experience and regulatory training and/or knowledge in one or more technical disciplines.
Strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, analytical abilities, and effective project management skills.
Demonstrated success in managing, developing, and executing programs throughout an organizational entity.
Excels at operating in a fast pace, community environment.
Excellent people manager, open to direction, allows direct supervisors and/or Team Leaders the autonomy to resolve team crisis and conflict (personnel issues, schedules, etc.), and will aid in the conflict resolution as requested.
Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
