Summary

The Children's School seeks a substitute teacher to join our staff from March-June 14, 2024.

 

Applicant must be able to create a warm, caring, and creative environment for children to explore. Applicant must be able to work as a team member with fellow teachers and parents in the school

community. Applicant must value a play-based and emergent curriculum. Positive attitude and good communication skills a must. Come join our vibrant school community!

Duties

• Interacts with children in accordance with the philosophy of the school.
• Helps create smooth and pleasant transitions between activities.
• Assists with daily set-up, clean-up and routine maintenance of the school
• Arrives in classroom on time and is ready to begin day at scheduled time.
• Assures the safety of all class participants at all times.
• Demonstrates an enthusiastic attitude that imports a positive feeling towards others.
• Demonstrates warmth and respect when interacting with children.
• Respects confidentiality, acting in a professional and ethical manner in all aspects of the position.
• Accepts duties that are reasonable to expect under the parameters of the job which arise as a normal course of events.

Requirements

7.3.2.6 Substitute
A substitute is at least eighteen (18) years of age, is able to comprehend basic written format, and is a high school graduate or has completed a GED

Nice To Haves

Prior experience with children preferred.

The Children's School ( ,) located in South Burlington, is a parent cooperative preschool serving children ages 3-5. Founded in 1970, our mission is to provide high quality early education inclusive of all young children and their families by fostering a sense of community and encouraging the children to discover new things about themselves, their friends, and the world around them.

TCS is a 501c(3) non-profit organization, a Vermont five STAR program, and participates in Vermont's Act 166 Universal Prekindergarten Education Partnership Program.
