The Senior Electrical Engineer will be part of the engineering design teams to incorporate advanced technologies that result in robust Pro AV type products for use in our customers’ installations. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and debugging high speed digital circuits, hardware, embedded systems, and digital video interfaces for our products. You will also be responsible for thermal considerations, layout floor planning, signal integrity, and EMI mitigation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop high speed digital circuits, hardware, and embedded systems.
- Design and develop digital video interfaces such as HDMI, DisplayPort, and SMPTE.
- Conduct schematic capture and design electrical circuit layouts.
- Prototype and test electrical circuit designs.
- Debug and troubleshoot hardware and embedded circuits.
- Perform reliability planning and EMI mitigation.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience designing mixed signal/analog/high speed digital circuits.
- Experience leading hardware projects from conception to prototype to production.
- Experience with digital video interfaces, especially HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C and SMPTE video standards.
- Experience designing embedded products including block diagramming, schematic capture, power estimation, thermal consideration, layout floor planning, signal integrity, EMI mitigation and reliability planning.
- Experience interfacing with microcontrollers and application processors, high-speed memory (DDR2/3/4), and data communication interfaces including UART, SPI, I2C, USB, SDIO, Ethernet, PCIe.
- Experience integrating CPLDs and FPGAs at the board level.
- Experience with C programming or VerilogVHDL is a plus.
- Experience with ethernet networking concepts and integrating networking components (Ethernet PHYs and Switches) into products.
- Experience with electronics design and simulation tools.
- Strong hardware debugging skills and root-cause failure analysis.
- Ability to work effectively in a small group of focused and talented engineers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (clear and concise technical writing)
- Strong attention to details, highly organized, self-starter.
- Team oriented, with a strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment to meet multiple deadlines.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and collaborative skills with the ability to prioritize efficiently and effectively within and across departments.
