Job Description The Aerospace Corporation is hiring an Undergraduate Intern for opportunities in El Segundo, California and Chantilly, Virginia.
Job Summary The Cloud Platforms and Architectures Department is seeking applicants with a passion to learn cloud systems and solutions, focused on software development with state-of-the-art technologies. Interns will be given the ability to work on multiple projects over the summer, covering different customers, focus areas, and tools. Internship tasking is intended to allow students to complement their academic studies with hands-on, career-building experience.
What You’ll Be Doing - Perform software development for various cloud-related rapid prototyping activities
- Research and experiment with state-of-the-art software and hardware technologies
- Manage Linux systems to provide software-as-a-service, platform-as-a-service, and infrastructure-as-a-service capabilities
- Implement DevOps technologies to streamline development, testing, build, and deployment of applications
- Investigate bleeding edge cloud technologies for current and future implementation by customers in the space domain
- Receive training and mentorship from cloud and software development subject matter experts
- Learn about projects, tools, and technologies used across the enterprise

What You Need To Be Successful - Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college/university program pursuing a Bachelor’s, degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field(s) from a recognized institution
- Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term and ability to return to a degree program full-time after completion of the internship.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Software development experience with at least one major language (e.g., Python, Java, C/C++, Go, Rust, etc.)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government
How You Can Stand Out - GPA of 3.5 or higher
- Active security clearance
- Knowledge of Linux systems management
- Experience with cloud and virtualization tools, such as Docker, Kubernetes, and/or VMware technologies
- Familiar with DevOps tools, such as Git, Jenkins, and/or ArgoCD
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
