Job Purpose

Professional Sewers at Martin-Baker America (MBAI) are responsible for operating sewing related machines including, single needle, double needle, over lock, Adler, post, CNC auto tracker, auto webbing feeder and auto Velcro feeder and other various machines to join and/or reinforce fabric, Velcro, webbing, and other material used in the manufacturing of production assemblies for ejection seats and helicopter seats.

Main Duties of the professional Sewer

• Ability to read and interpret complicated blueprints, drawings, flowcharts, and build plans.
• Ability to adhere to company build plans and achieve quality standards.
• Possess flexibility and the ability to handle multiple tasks independently in an organized manner.
• Acquire potential skills necessary to operate all sewing related machines including, single needle, double needle, over lock, Adler, post, CNC auto tracker, auto webbing feeder and auto Velcro feeder efficiently and effectively.
• Always adheres to applicable Martin Baker America operating procedures and work instructions .
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
• Required to monitor work and be self-motivated.

Experience/Education needed to be a professional Sewer

• Must be detail oriented and have a high attention to detail.
• Have good hand-eye coordination.
• Have the ability to produce quality work with a high degree of accuracy.
• Able to measure and work to tolerance of +/- 1/16th of an inch.
• Have a high school diploma or GED.
