One of our clients, an ophthalmology practice, is looking for an Optometrist to join their team.
Job Details:
- Workdays : The position starts at 3 days a week, and grows to full-time.

Job Description
- The Optometrist will examine, diagnose and treat diseases and disorders that affect vision, such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism and glaucoma.
- They will also prescribe and fit eyeglasses, contact lenses and low-vision aids for patients who need them.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Perform thorough routine eye examinations using various instruments and tests
- Identify and diagnose vision problems, eye diseases and injuries
- Prescribe corrective lenses, medications and other treatments for visual conditions
- Educate and counsel patients on eye health, hygiene and safety
- Refer patients to other specialists when necessary
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
- Keep up to date with the latest developments and research in optometry
Required Qualifications:
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school
- Valid license to practice optometry in Michigan
- Completion of a one-year residency program or two years of clinical experience (preferred)
- Certification by the American Board of Optometry or the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (optional)
